Local Pubs and Restaurants 


 

The Ship  on the sea front, (diagonally across Gold Park towards the children’s play area, walk into the car park then turn right) serves pub food either in the bar or restaurant. It allows dogs into the bar area.  Telephone 01263 72267 The Ship Inn


The Porthole, opposite Ivy Farmhouse on Station Road is really worth a visit. During the day it serves hot drinks and snacks.  It stays open late on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening serving cocktails and Pizza. We have sampled the cocktails, the Ruby Trap is recommended!


No 17 is now open on Beach Road, (formerly The View),  it serves fresh baguettes, hot drinks and fresh doughnuts.



The Royal Hotel  (Past the Ship on the left head east and go around the corner) has a rustic bar, allows dogs and serves good portions. 


The New Sage  Chinese takeaway  is open 7 days a week, and is a five-minute walk from the house. Head to the sea front along the High Street, turn left and walk past the Haig where the Chinese is alongside. 01263 722828


The Haig is a local’s place, £8 membership and serves cheap beer!

The Vernon Arms  Southrepps is a traditional pub serving good food, about a 10 minute drive south out of the village staying on the the High Street road.


 The Gunton Arms pub and restaurant in Thorpe Market is four miles from the beaches of the North Norfolk coast, Gunton is a one-thousand-acre deer park established in the eighteenth century. Telephone 01263 832010 Approximately 15 minute drive.

The Suffield Arms is a recently reopened pub/restauarant in Thorpe Market. It specialises in Tapas and Pasta with additional special items on the menu. It also has a cosy cocktail bar upstairs. It is owned by Ivor Braka who also owns the Gunton Arms. (Ten minute drive) Highly recommended, book ahead recommended.   www.suffieldarms.com/restaurant/

Rocky Bottoms  A fish restaurant in West Runton just west of Cromer around 20 minutes drive from Mundesley.  www.rockybottoms.co.uk.  01263 837359 / 07848 045607 (Closed for the winter)



The Grove Hotel just outside Cromer has an A la Carte restaurant, plus the Sundown Tapas and Seafood restaurant, a seasonal restaurant with a giant tipi, we have sampled this and it is very good. Bookings essential. 01263 512412 (15 minutes drive)  The Grove




There are several Cafe’s in Mundesley within walking distance of the house. There is a fresh fish counter situated in the car park beside The Beach Cafe on the sea front.  Occasionally Pop-Up stalls set up in the shoppers car park, more details to follow on these when we get the information.
